Based around the classic "RAT" distortion pedal. We have altered the filter and added diode clipping selection for 3 levels of headroom - Extreme Germanium clipping, classic silicon diode clipping, or a high headroom, asymmetrical MOSFET clipping.
In fact, the original "Zendrive" pedal uses MOSFET clipping to create it's dynamic overdrive response. This pedal does Zendrive-style tones like a little champ, with lots more on tap in it's compact 1590B size.
This circuit is known for amazing ācleanishā tones at low gain (John Scofieldās tone) or deep, heavy āchunkā distortion when cranked (80ās Anthrax distortion!). Three flavors of clipping and a modified filter control make this pedal simple and flexible at the same time.
The filter is also tuned to have a different curve than the original RAT, we tuned this gentler roll-off of sometimes harsh high-mid frequencies to not cut as quickly, making it more useful over the full range of travel.
As with all our pedals - standard +9vDC operation, Lumberg Jacks, Alpha Pots, and a powder coated finish with UV Printed graphics.
