Highland
Ā
The Highland is a low-gain, discrete overdrive. At its core, this circuit utilizes a single-stage, silicon transistor to drive your guitarās signal into a natural breakup with warm, transparent tone and a great dynamic feel.
Unlike op-amp based overdrives, this overdrive utilizes a discrete transistor in its circuit topology. What I love about this approach is how warm and responsive it can be. Itās got a nice low-gain overdrive sound for a little push, but it can also become somewhat unstable and delve into mild fuzz territory. The Highland is loaded with tons of tone shaping features and functionality, which makes it a great overdrive or boost for any setup. Iām excited for you to give it a try!
LEVEL : Controls the overall volume of the overdriven signal.
GAIN : Controls the gain structure of the overdrive by manipulating the signal being fed into the single-stage transistor.
TONE : Controls the amount of treble frequencies in the amplified signal. Turning the knob clockwise adds more treble while turning the knob counterclockwise removes treble from the signal.
CLIP : Toggles between three different hard-clipping modes: symmetrical (up), none (center), & asymmetrical (down).
BODY : Toggles between three different voicing options: mid-range (up), treble (center), & full range (down).
This pedal is powered with a standard, center-negative 9V power supply. Daisy chain power supplies are not recommended. For the best user experience, an isolated power supply is recommended for powering all Awestruck Amplification pedals.
